Voting and Elections
Online Voter Registration
If you have a valid Kansas driver's license or nondriver's identification card you may register to vote online using the Kansas Online Voter Registration website. The online registration option uses your driver's license signature to do so.
In addition, you may use the following website to register on a form which will be emailed directly to our staff: www.ksvotes.org.
Registering or Re-Registering to Vote In-Person
You must re-register each time you change your name, address, or party affiliation for voting, otherwise the Election Office will have outdated information. There are four ways to submit your application:
- Visit KS Votes and submit your registration
- Print out either the Kansas Voter Registration Application (PDF format) or the Federal Voter Registration Application (PDF format) , complete, sign and mail or hand deliver application to the Douglas County Election Office, 711 W. 23rd Street Suite 1., Lawrence, KS 66046.
- Fax the completed and signed application to 785-832-5192.
- Scan the completed and signed application then email to elections@dgcoks.gov
Although the County Clerk's Office is the best place to obtain voter registration materials and forms, registration forms are also available at other Voter Registration Sites.
Party Affiliation
To change your party affiliation, print out the Party Affiliation Declaration form. For the 2024 Primary Election (August 6th, 2024), the deadline to change your party affiliation is June 3rd and is closed until September 1st after the State Board of Canvassers meet.
Cancel Registration
You may cancel your voter registration at any time by filling out the Voter Registration Cancellation form.
